It is completely LEGAL to homebrew sprits in india for personal use except in Gujarat, Bihar, Kerala, Mizoram, Nagaland, parts of Manipur, as well as the Union Territory of Lakshadweep [As these are dry states where alcohol itself is illegal without special permits].

1.You cannot sell your brew or make any kind of profit.

2.Produced drinks Should be strictly for PERSONAL USE ONLY.

3.You can not mass produce alcohol(50-100lts+) without a permit (even its for personal use ).

You may also want to check with your state and local authorities to see if there happens to be any other local restrictions in your area on home wine making.

Q2-Can I make my wines sweeter than the wines I buy at the store?

Absolutely! When you make your own wine you get to make it the way you like it – sweet or dry. You can also make your wine heavy and full or light and crisp. You can even control the wine’s alcohol percentage. That’s part of what makes home wine making so fun and enjoyable. Each batch is a reflection of what you think good wine should taste like.

Q3: What is the basic process to making wine?

Grape Juice + Yeast – Oxygen = Alcohol + Carbon Dioxide

The process for making wine is much easier than most people think. When yeast converts sugar in fruit to carbon dioxide and alcohol, the CO2 escapes into the air and what’s left is wine. The winemaker’s job is to create perfect conditions for the yeast to do its job and let nature take its course.

Q4: What are the best conditions to store wine?

If you intend to age the bottled wine for a long time, it is important to have a cool environment with a temperature range of 50 – 64 F. (10 – 18 C.). In this range, the wine will gently mature at an ideal rate. If the storage conditions are warmer, the wine will mature rapidly so avoid prolonged aging.

Q5: Why does my wine have a yeasty taste?

Most likely, your wine has been left too long on the lees (the dead yeast after the ferment has stopped). Prompt racking can prevent this.

Q6: Can I clean my bottles via regular wash?

Many beginning wine makers confuse “cleaning” and “sanitizing” to mean the same thing, but they are very different.
There are several products that can sanitize your wine bottles with little effort on your part. We recommend are: BrewMart’s sanitizer. You mix it with water to create a sanitizing solution. In addition to the wine bottles, this solutions can be used to sanitize gallon glass jugs, wine carboys, and even plastic fermenters.
